Advice

We provide a free source of advise and help regarding the care of such pets. Whilst we have over a decade of experience with unusual pets; we also have great ties with local organisations, vets and charities too.

Stay up to date with the day-to-day workings of the charity on facebook.

March

This exo terra vivarium was very kindly donated to us by local lady Alison Oxley- It's currently home to Twiggy and Bram- our Thai Giant Stick Insects (and all their babies!),who are very grateful as we always are for any donations of this type!

If you can't reach us, it is likely we'll be tending to the animals in our care- or out on an encounter. If we can't take the call (or you'd rather speak by email), please fill in our online form- and we will get back to you ASAP, usually within 1 day.

News

Encounter Exotics is an exotic pet charity that is devoted to the medical care and treatment of unusual pets. We can provide a home, treatment, love and eventual rehousing (if possible) for animals that most shelters and charities won't help and give each animal the compassion they deserve. Encounter Exotics is dependant upon donations in order to keep going, but also offer education around our animals and exciting unique encounter opportunities for parties, weddings, schools...

June

In aid of EE and the Chesterfield Canal Trust, Our trustees Lee and Wenzdi manually towed the Dawn Rose canal barge 2 miles along a stretch of the canal- smashing the anticipated 2 hour pull time in 1 1/2 hours, and making history by being the first people to hand pull a barge all the way through a lock on the Chesterfield canal! Toby "helped" too, and is still the only skunk to fundraise for this cause!

April 2018

We had our application to the charity commission for England, Scotland and Wales approved, and are now officially a registered charity, reg. no. 1177818

Amongst many other requirements, we had to show an income of over £5000 per year from donations; so a MASSIVE "thank you!" to everyone who has donated over the past few years, and supported us, knowing the good we were doing, even before we were a 'registered charity'

Please click below if you'd like to make a donation- Any amount is GREATLY appreciated
